Can I renew my license at AAA in MA? ›

Bring all required documents, fees, and the completed application to any RMV Service Center. If you are a AAA member, you can make a reservation to renew your driver's license/ID at a AAA location. Visit aaa.com/appointments to schedule your visit.

An appointment is required to visit to conduct License or ID related transactions. Note that Registration-related transactions can be performed at an RMV Service Center without an appointment.

If you need to complete an in-person permit, license, or ID transaction, you are required to make a reservation online. To schedule your appointment, visit Mass.Gov/RMV and select Make or Cancel a Reservation option or scan the QR code using your smartphone.

The Non-Renewal Program provides participating municipalities and their processing vendors with the ability to mark a vehicle's registration record for unpaid parking tickets, non-payment of excise tax, unpaid toll violations, and abandoned vehicles.

You'll also need to decide between a Standard driver's license/ID or a REAL ID driver's license/ID. REAL ID is a federal ID that you can use to fly within the United States or enter federal buildings beginning May 7, 2025.
