In Act 1 of Baldur's Gate 3, players can meet a hag who goes by Auntie Ethel. There are several ways this encounter can end, and depending on how players handle it, this quest can have consequences later in the game. One such consequence is the quest "Help the Hag Survivors."
Players can come across this quest by discovering one of the many Anti-Hag Support Group posters found throughout the Lower City in Baldur's Gate 3. Another way to start it is to come across the building where the group is currently hiding. Either way, the reception the party gets is far from warm.

Where to Find the Hag Survivors
The first issue players may have is finding the support group. All the posters mention Barren's Coop, which is northeast of the Heapside Strand waypoint. However, the building is empty. A successful Perception check will highlight an Eviction Notice on the cupboard by the door, which mentions that the owner kicked the group out.
To learn where the group has gone, read the Barely Legible Letter on the desk to the left of the front door. Apparently, the support group has moved to a place called Old Garlow's. This house is the half-ruined mansion just to the east of the Counting House. Players can also start this quest by entering the building and stumbling across its inhabitants.
There are three ways into the building. First, the front door is locked but not forbidden, so the party can pick it or destroy it. Second, there's a way around to the back of the building on the west side. Several bookcases block the entrance, but they don't have a Sturdy level and only have four hit points each. Finally, the party can fly, leap, or teleport up to the second-story balcony.

How to Help Mayrina
The hag survivors are initially hostile to the party, and the party leader must pass a Persuasion or Intimidation check against 15 to make them back off. If this attempt fails, players should target Jatlo first. He'll turn into a redcap, and the rest of the survivors will become allies.
If the party passes this check, the survivors will explain that Mayrina from Act 1 is their leader, but the hag has transformed her into a sheep. She (and Connor, if Mayrina raised him) is upstairs. Mayrina makes a series of non-sheep noises if the party tries to talk with her, even when using Animal Handling. Even if the speaker has Speak with Animals active, she can only barely mention a doll.
The doll in question is a Voodoo Doll, which is on the same floor as Mayrina. It glows green and sometimes giggles to itself. The doll resists Piercing, Necrotic, and Radiant damage, and it's completely immune to Fire, Psychic, and Poison. It teleports across the room if players try to pick it up or damage it, but it never leaves the floor it is on. Since the doll is a curse, players can also end the hex on Mayrina by casting 
Remove Curse either on her or on the doll.
When the curse ends, Jatlo will immediately confront the party. As mentioned before, Jatlo is secretly a disguised redcap, not a hexed or charmed dragonborn, and so a fight is inevitable. If Jatlo is able to take his first turn, he'll summon a pack of Armored Crabs that attack the hag survivors and the party.
Thus, while it's impossible to know this ahead of time without playing twice or reading a guide, the easiest way to end this combat is to attack Jatlo before climbing the stairs to find Mayrina. Since Jatlo turns into a redcap as soon as he takes damage, the other survivors will become allies and the party can kill him before he can summon the crabs. Attacking Jatlo is also a way to end the curse.
If Mayrina survives the fight, she'll explain that she's looking into the case of a kidnapped child. This starts a new quest, "Avenge the Hag Survivors." Players get the Staff of Interruption for completing the quest, and Mayrina mentions that she has some research in a safe. This safe is on the south wall of the main room, the one with the staircase.
Reading the research gives players the alchemy recipe for Hag's Bane, a special kind of grenade. To make it, combine the Ashes of Dried Fey Flower (also in the safe) with any Essence. A hag hit by the grenade will vomit out a child in her belly, which will make it much easier to save the child in the following quest. Finally, players should search Jatlo's body and take his key. The hag business in Baldur's Gate 3 continues after this, but this quest is now over.
