Is TCU generous with scholarships? ›

TCU awards numerous merit-based and need-based scholarships each academic year through the generosity of alumni and private donors.

At Texas Christian University, we believe a diverse community is essential to a quality education. The Community Scholars Program was created to meet this goal. This elite program has grown to include 13 underserved public high schools where top students are recruited for full-ride scholarships to TCU.

Renewal Requirements for Academic Scholarships

First-year level students must successfully complete 24 TCU hours with at 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA to renew for the upcoming year.

TCU charges a flat rate rate tuition for all students enrolled in 12-18 credit hours. Nearly 80 percent of our students receive financial aid through education loans, grants, and work study. They'll help you figure out if TCU is a good match for you, and guide you through the application and admission process.

Qualifying students that designate Texas Tech University as their first choice institution are eligible to receive 100% of federally approved cost of attendance including tuition, fees, room, board, books, transportation and a personal/miscellaneous allowance. Learn more here.

In conclusion, TCU is indeed an expensive institution, but it is not the most expensive in the US. Its total cost falls roughly in the middle among the pricier private colleges.

Dean's Honor List. To be eligible for the Dean's Honor List, first-year students must earn at least a 3.6 GPA; sophom*ores must earn at least 3.7; and juniors and seniors must earn at least 3.8.

According to the most recent statistics available through the TCU Fact- book (2018), 68.1% of students at TCU identify as White, while only 13.7% identify as Hispanic/Latino, 5.7% as Black/African American, and 3.0% as Asian.

With national brand growing, TCU draws majority of students from outside Texas. The school has had more out-of-state students than in-state students since 2018. Most of them come from California.
