Joseph DeLoso Jr.

Joseph "Joe" DeLoso Jr., 48, of 739 Medway Road, Hagerstown, died Friday, Feb. 14, 1997, at City Hospital in Martinsburg, W.Va.

Born July 25, 1948, in Hagerstown, he was the son of Genevieve McCormick DeLoso Poper of Mercersburg, Pa., and the late Joseph DeLoso Sr.

He was an independent truck driver, employed by Inway.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Victoria "Vickie" DeLoso; one daughter, Shannon DeLoso of Boonsboro; one stepdaughter, Jacqulyn Pentz of Hagerstown; one stepson, Cody Webster of Hagerstown; four sisters, Sandra A. Moats and Elsie Hockenberry, both of Hagerstown, Genny Schaff of Newfield, N.Y., and Kimberly S. DeLoso of Elbern, Ill.; and two brothers, Thomas A. DeLoso and Gregory DeLoso, both of Martinsburg, W.Va.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Kay D. Karn.

Services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Raymond H. Shriver will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Sandra R. Light

BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Sandra Rae Light, 45, of Berkeley Springs, died Thursday, Feb. 13, 1997, at her home.

Born March 12, 1951, in Ames, Iowa, she was the daughter of Burlin Curtis and Anna Jean Sigmund Christenson of Ames.

She was a 1969 graduate of Ames High School in Ames. She attended Iowa Methodist Hospital School of Nursing where she became an X-ray technician specializing in ultrasound.

She served in the U.S. Air Force at Travis Air Force Base in California from March 1973 to March 1975.

She worked for the last 21 years as a registered diagnostic medical sonographer, specializing in ultrasound, with the X-ray Department of City Hospital in Martinsburg, W.Va.

She was a member of Mount Zion United Methodist Church in Orleans Crossroads, W.Va.

She was a member of Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers in Dallas, The Blue Ridge Ultrasound Society, and Alderton-Dawson American Legion Post 60 in Berkeley Springs.

She was active with the Berkeley Springs High School Band Boosters and served several terms as president of Berkeley Springs High School PTA.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband of 23 years, Kirk I. Light; one daughter, Krista Lynn Light of Berkeley Springs; one son, David Bruce Light of Berkeley Springs; two sisters, Sharon K. York of Denver, and Denise Y. Waldo of Minneapolis; two brothers, Michael W. Christenson of Des Moines, Iowa, and Ronald C. Christenson of Alma, Neb.; five nieces; four nephews; two great-nieces; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at Mount Zion United Methodist Church, Orleans Crossroads. George Hopkins, pastor, and Roger E. Burtner, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, 306 Union St., Berkeley Springs, today from 6 to 9 p.m.; and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. The funeral home will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today for the convenience of friends.

Anna L. Dillow

MILLVILLE, W.Va. - Anna Lillian Dillow, 69, of Millville, died Friday, Feb. 14, 1997, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital.

Born Oct. 20, 1927, in Jefferson County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Robert H. and Annabelle Bussard Piper.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas M. Dillow; two sons, Paul Wesley Dillow of Charles Town, W.Va., and Ronald Lee Dillow of Millville; three sisters, Frances Miller of Keedysville, Josephine Holmes of Boonsboro, and Eleanor Dodson of Millville; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Glenn Allen Dillow.

Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Bolivar Pentecostal Church of Christ. The Rev. Frank Myers and the Rev. Gulford Turner will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens in Martinsburg, W.Va.

The family will receive friends at Jefferson Chapel Funeral Home in Ranson, W.Va., Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

Howard H. Knode

Howard Haller Knode, 84, of 1114 S. Potomac St., Hagerstown, and formerly of Baltimore, who died Thursday, Feb. 13, 1997, at Clearview Nursing Home was preceded in death by three brothers, Winton Knode, Glenn Knode and Algernon Knode.

Ruth E. Seibert

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Ruth Ellen Seibert, 76, of Martinsburg, died Saturday, Feb. 15, 1997, at her home.

Born March 8, 1920, in Berkeley County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Alvin O. and Ada Boltz Seibert.

She was educated in public schools and graduated from Shepherd College. She also attended Hagerstown School of Music.

She was a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church, where on Nov. 1, 1994, she celebrated 50 years as the church organist without missing a Sunday. At that time, she gave a Mass carillion to the church. She served as a deacon, as a past trustee and taught Sunday school for many years.

Prior to being organist at the Presbyterian Church, she was organist at Trinity Episcopal Church from Feb. 1, 1924 to Nov. 1, 1944.

She also was a member of Cumberland Valley Chapter of the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution and a post regent. She was one of the official organists at the organization's Continental Congress in Washington, D.C., for the past 20 years.

She was a member of Chaplain James Gibson Chapter of National Society of United States Daughters of 1812 and served as a past chaplain national and past state chaplain. She was a member of Gov. Norborne Berkeley Chapter of National Society of Daughters of the American Colonists, where she served as music chairman for many years. She was a life-long member of Alpha Sigma Tau National Sorority and served as president of Shepherdstown Alumnae Chapter for several years. She was a life member of Shepherd College Emeriytus Club.

She is survived by two nieces, Janet Hiett of Martinsburg, and Harriett Mynick of California; one nephew, John T. Clevenger of Martinsburg; one great-nephew; one great-niece; and a great-great-nephew.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Mary K. Tabler.

Services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Martinsburg. The Rev. Robert Hill and James R. Jackson will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Rosedale Funeral Chapel in Martinsburg, Monday and Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m., and one hour prior to the service at the church.

Family and friends will meet at First Presbyterian Church for a time of fellowship after the service.

Memorial donations may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 220 S. Queen St., Martinsburg, W.Va. 25401.

Harold W. Pittman

MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Harold W. "Pete" Pittman, 57, of 12643 Fort Loudon Road, died Thursday, Nov. 7, 1996, at Chambersburg Hospital, Chambersburg, Pa.

Born July 5, 1939, near Mercersburg, he was the son of Martha Thomas Pittman of Mercersburg, and the late Paul W. Pittman.

He was employed by the former Mercersburg Tannery until his retirement after over 25 years of service.

He was of the Protestant faith.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 39 years, Janet Gelsinger Pittman; five sons, Harold W. Pittman Jr. of East Berlin, Pa., Roy E. Pittman of Chambersburg, Terry L. Pittman of Springfield, Mont., Denny A. Pittman of Greencastle, Pa., and Gregory L. Pittman of Baltimore; six sisters, Lavonne M. Rozell of Greencastle, Pa., Romona M. Miller of Staunton, Va., Shirley J. Horst of Shippensburg, Pa., Doroetha G. Yohn of New Oxford, Pa., Nancy L. Sites of Mercersburg, and Wanda K. Lynch of Clear Spring; three brothers, James A. Pittman of Shippensburg, Paul E. Pittman of Newville, Pa., and Garry L. Pittman of Staunton; and six grandchildren.

Services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home, 47 N. Park Ave., Mercersburg. The Rev. Glen E. Hartman and the Rev. Gregory L. Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, near Mercersburg.

Friends may call Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Betty L. F. Redmond

Betty Lou Files Redmond, 65, of 54 E. Antietam St., Hagerstown, died Thursday, Nov. 7, 1996, at her home.

Born Oct. 19, 1931, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of Elizabeth M. Armstrong Lady of Hagerstown and the late Harry S. Lady Sr.

She attended Otterbein United Methodist Church.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by two daughters, Sharon E. Forbes of Phoenix and Amanda D. Muller of Aberdeen, N.J.; four sons, Emmert Thomas Files of Hagerstown, Jeffrey R. Pontrelli of Severna Park, Md., Keith D. Files and Kevin L. Files, both of New Jersey; two brothers, Richard G. Lady of Tampa, Fla., and Harry S. Lady Jr. of Hagerstown and three granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by one grandson.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

There will be no viewing.

Arrangements are by Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, Hagerstown.

William Reilly

McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - William Reilly, 83, of P.O. Box 202, died Friday, Nov. 8, 1996, at Manor Care Health Services.

Born in Wall, Pa., Oct. 8, 1913, he was the son of the late Charles and Jessie Brown Reilly.

He was a retired machinist for Westinghouse Co. Early in life he worked as a coal miner.

He was a member of McConnellsburg United Presbyterian Church.

He also was a member of American Legion Post 561 in McConnellsburg, and East McKeesport Lodge 765 F.&A.M.

He is survived by his wife, Vivian Reese Reed Reilly; two stepdaughters, Joyce Flynn of McKeesport, Pa., and Mary Ann Reed of Duncansville, Pa.; two stepsons, Lyle Reed and Kenneth Reed, both of Cito, Pa.; one brother, Edward Reilly of Bethel Park, Pa.; seven step-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by two sisters; and two brothers.

Services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at McConnellsburg United Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Angela Hanco*ck and the Rev. Trent Hanco*ck will officiate. Burial will be in Union Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Memorial donations may be made to Fulton County American Cancer Society or the Fulton County Library, both in McConnellsburg, Pa. 17233.

Arrangements are by Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, McConnellsburg.
